A caravan plate displays your towing vehicle's registration number on the caravan or trailer. It is a legal requirement for EU travel — it is not a separate registration for the caravan itself.
What is a Caravan Registration Plate?
When towing a caravan or trailer over 750kg to EU countries, you are legally required to display your towing vehicle's registration number on the rear of the caravan or trailer. This white acrylic plate with black digits satisfies that requirement.
If there is no suitable mounting point on the rear of your caravan or trailer, you may fit one plate to each side instead.
Where to Fit It
Fit to the rear of the caravan or trailer — preferred position
If no rear mounting point is available, fit one plate to each side
Must display the towing vehicle's registration number
Required for caravans and trailers over 750kg gross weight
